In Loving Memory of Lindsay Venn

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Medical Director, colleague, and friend, Lindsay Venn, PA-C, RD, MHP, on May 22, 2026.

Lindsay was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by courage, compassion, faith, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. She was a healer in the truest sense — the kind who saw people, met them where they were, and helped them improve their health and quality of life.

She began her career as a registered dietitian because she wanted to help people heal. When she grew disillusioned by a system that often failed to deliver the outcomes patients deserved, she became a physician assistant, determined to find better solutions. She questioned assumptions, challenged conventional thinking, and was willing to step away from comfortable paths to pursue what she believed was right. That relentless pursuit ultimately brought her to Insulin IQ, where she became a transformational part of our team and mission.

Lindsay embodied bravery. Many knew about her adventures — her love of scuba diving and her willingness to explore the depths of the ocean, even alongside sharks. But the same courage she displayed in those pursuits showed up in every aspect of her life. She was brave in the way she cared for patients, brave in challenging a traditional medical model, and brave in building a life centered on purpose, family, and impact.

Deeply loving, she spoke often about her husband Jeff, her children, and her family — the people she loved were never far from her thoughts. Despite working tirelessly and carrying enormous responsibilities, she always made time for those who mattered most. That same love extended to her patients, colleagues, and friends. Lindsay had a rare ability to make people feel seen. She carried burdens that weren’t her own, celebrated the victories of others, and consistently placed their needs ahead of her own.

One of the things many of us will remember most is the quiet way she lived her faith. She wore a cross every day — a gift from Jeff — and rarely was seen without it. Yet she never used her faith as a stage. She simply lived it. Her faith showed up in how she served people, how she listened, how she cared, and how she loved. She preached nothing and embodied everything.

Lindsay was also a dreamer who paired vision with extraordinary work ethic and talent. She built relationships everywhere she went and created connections that changed lives. The countless messages, calls, and expressions of love received since her passing are a testament to the impact she made.

We know many people have understandably had questions regarding the cause of her sudden passing.

While final investigations are still pending, preliminary medical information suggests that she experienced a sudden cardiac rhythm event (arrhythmia) while exercising, which led to a rapid medical emergency.

While tragic and fortunately uncommon, sudden cardiac rhythm disturbances can occasionally occur even in individuals who appear otherwise healthy, active, and physically fit.

At this time, there is no available evidence to conclude that she suffered a traditional heart attack or coronary artery disease, and the underlying cause that led to this sudden event remains under investigation. The medical examiner said her heart looked healthy, and was suspicious of an embolism. A large blood clot that travels to the lungs and cuts off the flow of oxygen and blood.

Our focus right now remains honoring her life, supporting her family, and caring for the many lives she impacted.

We had big plans for the future. The reality that she won’t be here to help build them is difficult to accept. Yet even in her absence, her influence remains — in the patients whose lives she changed, the colleagues she inspired, the friendships she cultivated, the family she loved deeply, and the mission she helped shape. We will strive to honor her spirit as we all go forward with the same courage she lived every day.

To Jeff, her children, her family, and all who loved her: our hearts are with you. Thank you for sharing her with us. We are better because we knew her.

For those of us fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Lindsay, perhaps the best way to honor her is to follow her example:

Be brave. Serve quietly. Love generously. Pursue truth.

Lindsay was a brilliant, brave light. And light like that does not disappear. It lives on in every life it touched.
