At Insulin IQ, we love celebrating the incredible stories of our community members who have taken control of their health by addressing insulin resistance. Today, we’re proud to highlight Jennifer Lesman, an inspiring example of what’s possible when you commit to understanding and improving your metabolic health. Not only has she transformed her own health, but she’s become an Insulin IQ Certified Coach, eager to help others do the same.
Jennifer’s health journey began with an unsettling diagnosis—significant fatty liver—while she was following a high-carb, plant-based diet. This revelation was a shock, but it was also the catalyst she needed to start searching for a different approach. Like many in our community, she was initially skeptical about whether changing her diet could truly reverse her condition.
But as she dug into the research, Jennifer discovered the fundamental role of insulin resistance in metabolic disorders, something she had never fully understood before. Through Dr. Ben Bikman’s work and the Insulin IQ community, she learned that fatty liver, prediabetes, and many other metabolic issues are not just about calories or fat intake—they are driven by excessive insulin levels caused by chronic carbohydrate consumption.
Determined to turn her health around, Jennifer made a dramatic shift: she completely abandoned her high-carb vegan diet and transitioned to a low-carb, animal-based way of eating. She committed fully—not swaying for a single day—despite the doubts that crept in along the way.
Over the course of a year, the results were nothing short of life-changing:
✔️ Fatty liver completely reversed — Her recent MRI confirmed what she had hoped for.
✔️ 60 pounds lost — She shed significant weight, which not only transformed her appearance but also improved her overall well-being.
✔️ Triglycerides dropped by half — A major sign of improved metabolic function.
✔️ Blood pressure normalized — No longer at risk for hypertension.
✔️ Pre-diabetes reversed — Her blood sugar regulation improved dramatically.
✔️ Drastically lowered insulin levels — An indicator that she was tackling the root cause of metabolic dysfunction.
✔️ Resolution of GERD, arthritis, and inflammation — Once-daily struggles that became a thing of the past.
✔️ Enhanced mental clarity and emotional well-being — Metabolic health is about more than physical changes—it affects brain function, mood, and energy levels, all of which she saw improve.
Jennifer’s transformation didn’t just change her life—it ignited a passion to help others achieve the same success. As she learned through the Insulin IQ community, metabolic dysfunction is the silent epidemic affecting millions, and most conventional medical approaches focus only on managing symptoms instead of fixing the root cause.
Motivated by her personal experience, Jennifer decided to go through the training and become an Insulin IQ Certified Coach! She wants to start help others navigate their own metabolic health journeys, avoiding the years of misinformation and frustration she once faced. With her firsthand experience and the solid scientific foundation she’s gained from our certification program, she’s ready to guide others toward real, lasting health improvements.
🔹 Why insulin, not just sugar, is the key player in metabolic disease—Understanding insulin’s role changed everything for her.
🔹 Why traditional dieting advice (like ‘eat less, move more’) fails so many people—Jennifer learned how to work with her body’s biology, not against it.
🔹 How eliminating seed oils, processed carbs, and sugars can dramatically reduce inflammation and metabolic dysfunction—She experienced this firsthand.
🔹 That metabolic health isn’t just about weight loss—it’s about longevity, disease prevention, and overall vitality.
🔹 The power of community support—Having others on the same journey made all the difference in staying consistent and motivated.
Jennifer knows how overwhelming it can be to make such a radical change, especially when mainstream health advice often contradicts what actually works. But her advice to anyone on the fence is simple: stay the course.
“If you are new here and looking for something to save your life, you have found it. Stay the course and it will pay off!” she shared in her recent post.
Her story is a testament to what’s possible when you take control of your metabolic health with the right knowledge and support.
