Medical Consultations
with a PA, Dietitian, or Metabolic Health Practitioner
Initial Consultations & Single Sessions:
Consultations last 45–60 minutes. In the case of initial visits, some time is spent in a medical/surgical/social history review, and reviewing previous laboratory work and imaging. When you schedule your initial consultation, we will email you an online form to make submitting this information simple and clear. Initial sessions also include questions about your diet and lifestyle and what has worked, or not worked for you in the past.
We’ll talk about your personal barriers to success and start setting individualized goals with you for moving forward. We’ll discuss lifestyle strategies that are in line with those goals so you can start improving your metabolic health immediately!
For patients living in CA, OR, ID, UT, WY, AZ, TX, OH, WI, IL, FL, DE, NY, and VA: We will order any lab work or imaging that may be missing or too far in the past to be helpful. And, we’ll prescribe/adjust any medications that may be appropriate for your specific circumstances.
For patients living in all other U.S. states: If needed, we’ll suggest lab work for you to order through your own medical provider or through a “self-order lab” such as OwnYourLabs.com. We’ll review medications and potentially make recommendations for new and/or adjusted medications or supplements. We’ll also offer suggestions for discussing these things with your primary care physician.

A few frequently asked questions...
“Do you accept my insurance?”
Currently, we do not accept/bill insurance. Although most HSAs will cover our services, please check with your carrier. Upon request and if applicable, we’re happy to provide you with the appropriate notes that you can submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement.
“Can you order more specific metabolic health tests for for me?”
Yes! If you live in one of the states where we’re licensed, we can send you an order to take to the lab. If you don’t live in one of those states, we can direct you to OwnYourLabs.com and give you the specific things you’ll want to order for yourself—or give you the list to take to your doctor to order.
“If I already have labs from my PCP, can you give me a second opinion?”
Yes! Many times our doctors don’t have time to go through labs in detail with us. We will take the needed time to review them all and discuss what they mean. We’ll also talk about what you can do with your diet and lifestyle to improve them.
“If I have a very complex medical history, is this something you can handle?”
Yes! As you know, many chronic diseases come from insulin resistance. So, all of our providers are very well versed in all of the conditions associated with insulin resistance and the medications/labs related to those conditions.
