âAbout that same time I found out I was insulin resistant, and while that was kind of scary and overwhelming (I didnât really know what it meantâinsulin only matters if youâre diabetic right?), it ended up being a blessing in disguise. Thatâs when my life changed for the better!â
âFor me, learning that I was insulin resistant made so many things that didnât make sense before, make sense. It explained why I struggled to lose weight, no matter how hard I tried. It explained why I was hungry all the time and had to eat every hour or two (I thought I just had no willpower!). It explained why I never had any energy, and was always tired no matter how much sleep I got. I could go on and onâŠâ
âIt might sound crazy, but finding out that I was insulin resistant gave me hope! Now I knew what was wrong! After doing a deep diveâreading and listening to everything I could get my hands on about the subjectâI learned that it was reversible! So now, I had an action plan.â
âI reversed my insulin resistance, lost weight (finally), and kept it off (in my 40s) when weâre told that weight loss is next to impossible. All my blood markers are fantastic (my doctorâs words, not mine). I was able to get off anxiety and depression meds, get rid of âseasonal allergiesâ (that lasted all year), and heal arthritis in my knees and hands. Iâm stronger, feel better, and have more energy than I ever remember having. All from changing my diet and lifestyle.â
âI tell you all this so that you know that if youâre overwhelmed or struggling too, there is hope! In all of this I also found my dream career. I get to help women ditch the diet, lose weight, and improve their health too. It doesnât get better than that!â
