Insulin IQ Certified Coach
“I have been a registered nurse for over 16 years. I started my career in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit. I then spent many years in an ambulance doing Critical Care Transports then also as a Flight Nurse in a helicopter.”
“I have since switched out of Critical Care to Public Health Nursing. More recently into Nurse Coaching. During my time as a nurse I have seen the awful things that diabetes does. This includes toes and limbs amputated, diabetic ulcers that are huge open sores, necrotic tissue leading to surgery to have it cleaned out, severe pain due to neuropathy, obesity, gastric bypass surgery with complications and end up on life support. I have also seen nutritional deficiency and malnourishment after gastric bypass surgery.”

“This is just to name a few things. I knew I did not want that for myself.”
“In 2018 I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes with a HgbA1c of 5.8 . The first year I was diagnosed I was in denial. I thought to myself there is no way that this is possible. This cannot be happening to me. I did nothing the first year to try to help myself. I went back a year later for an annual check up and again pre-diabetic now with my HgbA1c at 6.2. I was then thinking holly smokes this is for real. I need to do something about this.”
“I knew the medical profession always said diet and exercise and I thought to myself what does that actually mean. Again as I pondered for the next year over what I was going to do I went back for my next annual check up and my HgbA1c came back at 6.2 again. I was thankful it did not go up anymore but I knew if I did not do something I was on the verge of the medical profession offering me medications to help control my sugars.”
“In 2021 I began to finally try to do what I thought I was supposed to do to control this disease. I started eating better based on the Standard American Diet (SAD) and started to workout. That is what we are told right? I joined a CrossFit gym. Once again I went back for my annual and my HgbA1c came back at 6.3. I thought what the heck, I am now trying and this is not working.”
“I absolutely refused to take medications. I asked my doctor for a referral to an endocrinologist. I got nowhere. At this point in time I started looking into the keto diet. I decided to get a Nurse Coach who specialized in this way of eating. She provided me with so much knowledge and resources. One of which led me to Ben Bikman and Insulin IQ.”
“I started Insulin IQ’s program and I was able to reverse my pre-diabetes in less than 90 days once I started keto. The trajectory of my life was forever changed. When I went back for my annual exam my HgbA1c came back at 5.4 in 2023. No more pre-diabetes. It has remained down in 2024 at 5.3.”
“I also lost 40 pounds, and no longer am I pre hypertensive.”
“My journey has led me to want to help others who are on this same path and help them navigate and advocate for themselves. In 2024 I went back to school to become a Nurse Coach and I also became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.”
“I want to assist people to transform their lives into the lives that they have always envisioned for themselves. I hope my story inspires others who feel that this is a chronic and progressive disease to know that you can reverse insulin resistance. With a little support and guidance you can accomplish anything. You are in control of your own destiny.”
